De Profundis are a death metal band from the UK and this is their latest EP.
I have a lot of time for De Profundis. If you haven’t already, check out 2014’s Frequencies, 2015’s Kingdom of the Blind, 2018’s The Blinding Light of Faith, and 2022’s The Corruption of Virtue. I enjoyed 2020’s Nija, 2021’s Shaman, and 2023’s, Descent, so Death Above Life is well-received. Bloodletter are a thrash metal band from the US and this is their fourth album.
Leave the Light Behind contains 35 minutes of well-written melodic thrash metal. Bloodletter bring something to thrash that I haven’t heard in ages – pure, unadulterated quality craftsmanship. Gatekeepers is a 10-track, 15-minute kick in the face. Meth Leppard offer up an intense dose of brutality that should find fans of bands like Axis of Despair, Insect Warfare, Leng Tch’e, Maruta, Nasum, Pig Destroyer, and Rotten Sound quite happy. Serpent Corpse are a Canadian death metal band and this is their latest EP.
I thoroughly enjoyed 2023’s Blood Sabbath, so am pleased to have this new EP from Serpent Corpse. Retaliate contains 26 minutes of new material – four tracks of hideous old-school death metal for fans of the good stuff. Trivax are an Iranian/UK black metal band and this is their third album.
Trivax made a good start with 2017’s SIN, but then totally ascended a level with its 2023 follow up Eloah Burns Out – a record that has only grown in power over time.
