Nuisible – Inter Feces et Urinam Nascimur (Review)

NuisibleNuisible are a blackened hardcore band from France. This is their debut album.

Inter Feces et Urinam Nascimur sort of sounds like what would happen if Darkthrone embraced a love of Scandinavian d-beat and produced one massively pissed off record. Add in some elements of crusty death metal and grindcore and you have 23 minutes of red-hot anger. Continue reading “Nuisible – Inter Feces et Urinam Nascimur (Review)”

Limbs Bin – Bliss Tech (Review)

Limbs BinLimbs Bin is a one-man US grindcore/noise band. This is his second album.

Okay, well, this is gloriously fucked up. In under five minutes Bliss Tech reveals itself to be a chaotic and anarchic blend of powerviolence, electronics and digital hardcore. Continue reading “Limbs Bin – Bliss Tech (Review)”

Vermin Womb – Decline (Review)

Vermin WombVermin Womb are a blackened sludge/grind band form the US. This is their debut album.

Due to my love of their first EP Permanence, as well as all things Primitive Man and Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire, (who they share members with), this release has been highly anticipated by yours truly.

On Permanence Vermin Womb channelled the destructive essence Continue reading “Vermin Womb – Decline (Review)”

Insect Death – Perpetuating Idiocy (Review)

Insect DeathInsect Death is a one-man grindcore band from the US.

A member of Chalice of Suffering has unleashed this small, short gem of a grind release. It’s brutally concise and an utterly vicious little beast.

The fact that the band name, (and logo), is a combination of Insect Warfare and Napalm Death should tell you a lot about this.

So, this is grindcore that owes a debt to Continue reading “Insect Death – Perpetuating Idiocy (Review)”

Keitzer – Ascension (Review)

KeitzerKeitzer are a death metal/grindcore band from Germany and this is their sixth album.

Keitzer’s previous album, The Last Defence,  was one that I particularly enjoyed and have returned to again and again since its release. It was a top display of angry grindcore mixed with death metal rhythm. Ascension picks up where The Last Defence left off, and then goes further down the sonic avenues of extreme metal.

Ascension’s songs are, on average, Continue reading “Keitzer – Ascension (Review)”

Brain Tentacles – Brain Tentacles (Review)

Brain TentaclesBrain Tentacles are an experimental/avant-garde/jazz/grind/doom metal band from the US. This is their debut album.

Experimental/avant-garde/jazz/grind/doom metal is a bit of a mouthful, and in all honesty doesn’t even properly do justice to the sounds that this album contains at any rate.

In addition to the usual drums and bass you’ll also find synth, piano and horns on this release. But no guitars. Continue reading “Brain Tentacles – Brain Tentacles (Review)”

Kontagion Logo

Damian “Sfenson” Bednarski is behind deathgrind band Unborn Suffer and industrial metallers Kontagion. Both have had albums recently featured on this site, (Nihilist and [R-!-E]elentless, respectively), so now seemed a great opportunity to catch up with him and quiz him about both projects.

Let’s see what he has to say for himself…

Introduce us to Unborn Suffer and Kontagion!

Stench Price – Self Titled (Review)

Stench PriceStench Price are a grindcore supergroup and this is their debut release.

There’s a bewildering array of talent and people involved in this, so I’m simply going to copy and paste the lineup from the press blurb to make things easier for myself –

Siberia – Peter Shallmin – Bass (Escapethecult, Kamlath)
Siberia – Max Konstantinov – Guitars (Kamlath, Nebesniesnami)
USA – Danny Lilker (Brutal Truth, Nuclear Assault, SOD, etc.)
Sweden – Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Demiurg, etc.)
USA – Max Phelps (Cynic, Death DTA Tours, Exist)

Grossty – Crocopter (Review)

GrosstyGrossty are an Indian grindcore band and this is their debut album.

Oh yeah! It’s always fun to hear a band that take a standard style and mutate it with their own passionate interpretation, and Grossty do exactly that with the short-bouts-of-violence grindcore template.

Featuring 21 tracks in just under 21 minutes, this may be short but Continue reading “Grossty – Crocopter (Review)”

Unyielding Love – The Sweat of Augury (Review)

Unyielding LoveThis is the debut EP from UK grindcore band Unyielding Love.

Unyielding Love play ultra-extreme dark, blackened grindcore, and they sound pissed. This is noisy and littered with feedback and chaotic delivery.

Mix Discordance Axis, Nails, Full of Hell, thekevorkiansolution and Labrat together and you’ll be in the right filthy area. Continue reading “Unyielding Love – The Sweat of Augury (Review)”
