This is the fourth album from US grindcore band Gridlink.
Featuring current and ex-members of bands such as Discordance Axis, Maruta, No One Knows What the Dead Think, and Phobia, it’s safe to say that Gridlink know a thing or two about grinding. Boasting 19 minutes of furiously technical hostility, Coronet Juniper is a scathingly remarkable listen. Continue reading “Gridlink – Coronet Juniper (Review)”
Deadly Carnage are a post-black metal band from Italy and this is their fifth album.

Tideless are a death/doom metal band from the US and this is their second album.
Eye of Water is a monster of an album, in more ways than one. Running to an imposing 75 minutes, Tideless spew forth five tracks of inhuman death/doom of an unexpected and idiosyncratic synth-enhanced nature. Continue reading “Tideless – Eye of Water (Review)”
This is the debut album from US death metallers Fabricant.
Fabricant play a non-standard form of death metal that combines elements of the technical, progressive, and dissonant styles. Across 43 minutes Drudge to the Thicket impresses with its grasp of complexity and creative intensity. Continue reading “Fabricant – Drudge to the Thicket (Review)”
This is the second album from black metal solo act Blackbraid.
Blackbraid I was a very enjoyable album, which showcased the work of a talented new artist. Now though we have the immense Blackbraid II to absorb ourselves in. With a length of 66 minutes,(which includes a Bathory cover), it’s almost double the duration of its predecessor, and reveals that Blackbraid’s debut was no one-hit wonder. Continue reading “Blackbraid – Blackbraid II (Review)”
This is the third album from UK sludge/doom metal band Torpor.
Torpor play heavy, mood-focused music that crushes as much as it affectingly moves. Combining sludge, doom, and post-metal into 41 minutes of gritty material, Abscission is a record that is worth hearing if you’re partial to the style. Continue reading “Torpor – Abscission (Review)”
Tesseract are a UK progressive metal band and this is their fifth album.
This is my first time listening to Tesseract since their debut EP Concealing Fate back in 2010, (which appears to be one of my earliest reviews too). It seems that the band have developed and evolved very nicely since their humble djent-injected beginnings, and new record War of Being is leagues ahead of the material on that release. It seems I have some catching up to do at some point. Continue reading “Tesseract – War of Being (Review)”
Fossilization are a Brazilian death metal band and this is their debut album.
Since first encountering Fossilization’s doomed death metal on their split with Ritual Necromancy, I have been looking forward to hearing more from the band. Now their debut Leprous Daylight is here; 37 minutes of foul death metal malevolence delivered to the unsuspecting masses. Continue reading “Fossilization – Leprous Daylight (Review)”
