Exist – So True, So Bound (Review)

ExistExist are a progressive/technical death metal band from the US and this is their second album.

Exist have taken the torch from forerunners such as Atheist, Death, and Cynic, and are truly running with it. This means we get an old-school influenced version of the progressive/technical death metal style, as laid down by the aforementioned masters, despite the modern veneer and sparkling production. Gravewards – Subconscious Lobotomy (Review)

Igorrr – Savage Sinusoid (Review)

IgorrrIgorrr is a one-man project, (with guests), and this is his fourth album.

Father Befouled – Desolate Gods (Review)

Father BefouledThis is the fourth album from US death metallers Father Befouled.

This is a band that takes the classic sounds of Incantation and Morbid Angel and warps, twists, and bends them to their own indomitable will. Continue reading “Father Befouled – Desolate Gods (Review)”

Acedia Mundi – Speculum Humanae Salvationis (Review)

Acedia MundiThis is the debut album from French black metal band Acedia Mundi.

So, what do we have here? This is modern black metal played with a technical sheen that still manages to be relatively catchy, despite its imposing veneer. Continue reading “Acedia Mundi – Speculum Humanae Salvationis (Review)”
