Allegaeon – The Ossuary Lens (Review)

This is the seventh album from US death metallers Allegaeon.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of the Allegaeon albums I’ve heard, (2016’s Proponent for Sentience, 2019’s Apoptosis, and 2022’s Damnum), and each has been better than the last. Now Allegaeon are back with the 46-minute The Ossuary Lens, (their shortest album so far), and have changed singer, with their their original vocalist returning to the fold. Decrepisy – Deific Mourning (Review)

This is the second album from Decrepisy, a death metal band from the US.

Brought to us by current/ex-members of bands such as Acephalix, Ascended Dead, Coffin Rot, Necrot, Ritual Necromancy, Vastum, and Voidceremony, Deific Mourning is the 45-minute follow up to 2021’s enjoyable Emetic Communion. Corpus Offal – Corpus Offal (Review)

Corpus Offal are a death metal band from the US and this is their debut album.

I had no idea that Cerebral Rot had split up. If you don’t know them, check out 2019’s Odious Descent into Decay and 2021’s Excretion of Mortality, both very fine slabs of hideous death metal. Why is this relevant here? Because Corpus Offal have arisen from the decayed corpse of Cerebral Rot – the guitarist and guitarist/vocalist have been vomited forth into this new incarnation, and they have brought a new bassist and drummer with them, (the former ex-Demoncy, the latter from Autophagy/Bell Witch). Cabal – Everything Rots (Review)

This is the fourth album from Danish deathcore band Cabal.

I really like Cabal, so was well chuffed when Everything Rots appeared on the horizon like a gathering storm. 2020’s Drag Me Down and 2022’s Magno Interitus were both first class examples of deathcore heaviness. The latter showed a progression in the band’s sound too, reducing the blackened influences. What will the 38 minutes of new material on Everything Rots reveal? Gates to Hell play a form of death metal that’s been injected with hardcore urgency, grindcore intensity, and slamming heaviness. Chaos Inception – Vengeance Evangel (Review)

This is the third album from US death metallers Chaos Inception.

Wow, I did not see this coming. 2012’s The Abrogation stood out with its quality, and I’ve periodically wondered over the years if we’d ever see another from Chaos Inception. Necrambulant – Upheaval of Malignant Necrambulance (Review)

This is the second album from US death metal band Necrambulant.

Well, it’s been twelve years since Infernal Infectious Necro-Ambulatory Pandemic saw the light of day, so I thought I’d better check out Upheaval of Malignant Necrambulance to see what Necrambulant have been up to since then. Apparently they split up in 2014, only to reform in 2022 with a new lineup, (including vocals now from the bands ex-drummer). So there we are then.
