Amiensus – Reclamation: Part 1 (Review)

This is the fourth album from US black metallers Amiensus.

Amiensus are a band I’ve really enjoyed watching the development of over the years. 2012’s Restoration was an early highlight, but every release has offered something tasty from the band. Whether this is the stripped back classic approach of 2017’s All Paths Lead to Death, or the standout Abreaction, which rightfully made it onto my 2020 year end list, Amiensus always seem to have something meaningful to say. Arð – Untouched by Fire (Review)

This is the second album from UK doom metal solo act Arð.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Arð last year, so the opportunity to bask in the luxurious doom majesty of this new album was irresistible. Full of Hell – Coagulated Bliss (Review)

This is the sixth album from US grindcore band Full of Hell.

New Full of Hell is always a bit exciting, and this time they have returned with their most colourful album cover yet. What does this mean for the music contained within? Coffin Curse – The Continuous Nothing (Review)

Coffin Curse are a death metal band from Chile and this is their second album.

This is the 13th album from the US death metallers Deicide.

Black Tusk – The Way Forward (Review)

Black Tusk are a sludge/metal /hardcore band from the US and this is their sixth album.

Following on from 2018’s TCBT comes The Way Forward, which gives us 36 minutes of material. With a new lineup comes an expanded sound, with now a second guitarist and an extra vocalist, (which brings the total to an impressive four individuals all contributing vocals). Necrot – Lifeless Birth (Review)

Necrot are a death metal band from the US and this is their third album.

2020’s Mortal was an enjoyable slab of old-school death metal carnage, and now Necrot are back to reap more limbs with the 40-minute Lifeless Birth. It’s a step up a level for Necrot, one you must listen to if you’re a fan of bands such as Gatecreeper, Bolt Thrower, Undeath, Incantation, Blood Red Throne, Autopsy, Grave, Tomb Mold, Outer Heaven, Genocide Pact, etc. Continue reading “Necrot – Lifeless Birth (Review)”

Big | Brave – A Chaos of Flowers (Review)

Big | Brave are a doom/drone band from Canada and this is their seventh album.

Selbst – Despondency Chord Progressions (Review)

This is the third album from solo black metal act Selbst, originally from Venezuela, and now Chile.

Following on from 2020’s Relatos de Angustia, Despondency Chord Progressions contains 44 minutes of new material. The artist behind Selbst, (also in Animus Mortis), is aided on this release by the drummer of Aversio Humanitatis/Eternal Storm, and has created something quite special. Blaze of Perdition – Upharsin (Review)

This is the sixth album from Polish black metallers Blaze of Perdition.

I enjoyed 2015’s Near Death Revelations, 2017’s Conscious Darkness, and 2020’s The Harrowing of Hearts, so was pleased when Upharsin appeared.
