Culted – Vespertina Synaxis: A Prayer for Union & Emptiness (Review)

Culted - Vespertina Synaxis - A Prayer for Union & EmptinessCulted are an international blackened doom band and this is their latest EP.

I really enjoyed 2014’s Oblique to All Paths, and have been waiting for a new Culted release ever since. Well, now it’s here in the shape of this 27-minute EP. Boasting three tracks, Vespertina Synaxis: A Prayer for Union & Emptiness is a sinister exploration of Culted’s world. Warcrab – Damned in Endless Night (Review)

Warcrab - Damned in Endless NightThis is the third album from UK death/sludge metal band Warcrab.

Scars of Aeons was a very enjoyable mix of sludge and death metal, so when I found out that this new album was on the horizon, I prepared myself accordingly. Brain Bleed – Automated Eradication (Review)

Brain Bleed - Automated EradicationBrain Bleed are a deathgrind band from the US and this is their debut album.

Savage, that’s the word. Or, at least one of them. Brain Bleed are savage. They’re also brutal, belligerent, harsh, and many other similar words. Essentially, they’re a nasty bunch, and Automated Eradication is 20 minutes of all kinds of ugliness. Continue reading “Brain Bleed – Automated Eradication (Review)”

Barús – Drowned (Review)

Barús - DrownedThis is the debut album from Barús, a progressive death metal band from France.

Although we’ve met the mysterious entity that is Barús before on 2015’s self-titled EP, I’ve only just recently been privileged enough to listen to Drowned, despite it being released in 2018. Well, I’ve missed out, and I can’t help but feel that Drowned would have graced my end of year list for 2018. Continue reading “Barús – Drowned (Review)”
