I’ve enjoyed following Sulaco over the years – 2011’s Build & Burn, 2018’s The Prize, and 2020’s The Privilege – so Black Cloud is most welcome here at Wonderbox Metal. KEN Mode are a noise rock/hardcore band from Canada and this is their ninth album.
While I really liked 2018’s Loved, 2022’s Null hit harder, and really made KEN Mode an exciting proposition. Featuring a member of Ashenspire, Gendo Ikari play scathing grindcore that should appeal to fans of bands such as Discordance Axis, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Antigama, and Pig Destroyer. Agriculture is a 31-minute black metal album that combines post-black metal, blackgaze, noise rock, and post-rock ingredients into a charismatic whole. Agriculture, (who contain a member of Ehnahre), are a band that play with passion and energy, and this is a release that is hideously enjoyable if you’re a fan of the style.
