Eclipser – Pathos (Review)

Eclipser - PathosThis is the debut album from Canadian black metallers Eclipser.

This is black metal played with dark brutality and dissonant intensity. It’s a blackened hybrid that focuses more on black metal than anything else, but still finds time to incorporate death metal elements into itself with a voracious hunger. It’s Continue reading “Eclipser – Pathos (Review)”

Witch Vomit – Buried Deep in a Bottomless Grave (Review)

Witch Vomit - Buried Deep in a Bottomless GraveWitch Vomit are a death metal band from the US and this is their second album.

Now this is the stuff. Featuring members of Torture Rack and Dagger Lust, I’ve long been a fan of the foulness that Witch Vomit unleash into the world. 2016’s A Scream from the Tomb Below and 2017’s Poisoned Blood were both underground gems of fetid old-school death metal, and Buried Deep in a Bottomless Grave is no different in this regard. Warcrab – Damned in Endless Night (Review)

Warcrab - Damned in Endless NightThis is the third album from UK death/sludge metal band Warcrab.

Scars of Aeons was a very enjoyable mix of sludge and death metal, so when I found out that this new album was on the horizon, I prepared myself accordingly. Damned in Endless Night is a bigger monster than Scars of Aeons was though, with double the tracks and a total duration of 52 minutes. Continue reading “Warcrab – Damned in Endless Night (Review)”

Eternal Storm – Come the Tide (Review)

Eternal Storm - Come the TideEternal Storm are a melodic death metal band from Spain and this is their debut album.

The band’s first release in 2013 – From the Ashes – showed a lot of promise, and they then followed this up in 2014 with a split that contributed a single track, showing even more promise. And then…nothing. Fast forward to 2019, however, and we now get an imposing 59 minutes of new material. The band have been busy, it seems. Continue reading “Eternal Storm – Come the Tide (Review)”

Pathology - Reborn to KillPathology are a US death metal band and this is their tenth album.

Pathology have had a new lineup since 2017’s self titled album, including a guitarist from Condemned and vocalist from Inherit Disease.
