This is the latest album from US drone/noise band Clawing
I like Clawing. I mean, in the way that I like getting my eyes scratched out. This is a deeply unpleasant band producing deeply unpleasant music. As I’m sure I’ve stated previously, this is not normally my kind of thing. Noise/drone Continue reading “Clawing – Labour (Review)”
This is the sixth album from Cancer, a UK death metal band.
This is Cancer’s first album in 13 years, and their first to feature their original lineup in 23 years. Lasting 44 minutes, Cancer’s newest album contains old-school death metal, with plenty of brutality and viciousness. Continue reading “Cancer – Shadow Gripped (Review)”
This is the third album from UK grinders The Atrocity Exhibit.
Just when you think you’ll never hear any more from this highly enjoyable grindcore wrecking crew, (their last release came out in 2013), we get a brand new album containing 19 tracks; 23 minutes of material to enjoy. Continue reading “The Atrocity Exhibit – Extinction Solution (Review)”
This is the eighth album from progressive metal heavyweights The Ocean.

Leonov are a Norwegian doom/post-metal band, and this is their second album.
Mixing together the heart of doom with the pulse post-metal, Wake is a collection of tracks that have a deep melodic core and depth of feeling to them. In fact, powered by negative emotion, this is an album filled to the brim with feelings of loss, woe, despair, and plaintive nostalgia. It’s never maudlin though, and frequently beautiful. Continue reading “Leonov – Wake (Review)”
Outre are a Polish black metal band and this is their second album.
After 2015’s Ghost Chants and 2017’s split with Barshasketh, it’s safe to say that Hollow Earth has been much-awaited by me. I have not been disappointed, not at all. Continue reading “Outre – Hollow Earth (Review)”
Cognitive are a US technical death metal band and this is their third album.
Matricide is the follow up to 2016’s Deformity, which was a record that I really enjoyed. Continue reading “Cognitive – Matricide (Review)”
Striker are a Canadian heavy metal band and this is their sixth album.
I really like Striker. Simple, effective, well-written, and catchy as Hell, their music is just so timelessly appealing and pleasurable to listen to. That’s basically how I feel whenever I give 2017’s Striker a spin, but the same can be said, (and I am saying it), about Play to Win. Continue reading “Striker – Play to Win (Review)”
