Demonic Rage – Omen of Doom (Review)

Demonic Rage are a Chilean death metal band.

Omen of Doom is a compilation of a lot of the band’s early hard/impossible to get demos dating back as far as 2001.

Due to the nature of a release like this the sound quality does vary between the various demos, but overall the band have unearthed a surprisingly well-preserved rotten corpse. The recording and production values deteriorate the further back in time you go, but even this doesn’t diminish the essential quality of what the band produce. Harakiri for the Sky – III: Trauma (Review)

As the name suggests, this is the third album from this Austrian post-black metal band.

Harakiri for the Sky blend resplendent, expansive post-rock/metal with a blackened intensity. The resulting 75 minutes of music on III: Trauma is heavily atmospheric, with a darkened core that screams out in forlorn misery and pain.

This is the fifth album from this US black metal band.

Age of the Fanatics is Gutter Instinct’s début album, and what an album it is. Their ability to merge Swedish death metal with evil blackened auras has proven to be a stroke of twisted genius, and Age of the Fanatics is definitely one to keep returning to again and again.
