Haxprocess – Beyond What Eyes Can See (Review)

Haxprocess - Beyond What Eyes Can SeeThis is the second album from US death metal band Haxprocess.

Beyond What Eyes Can See contains 45 minutes of music divided into four epic songs. Haxprocess play progressive death metal, although that simple appellation doesn’t really due justice to what you’ll discover here. This record is a real beast. Offal Fest – Sunday Evening – Defeated Sanity/Wormed/Indecent Excision/Iniquitous Savagery – Manchester Rebellion, 27/07/25 (Live Review)

Offal Fest 25 - Full Poster

Offal Fest is a three-day festival of ultra-brutal death metal carnage. It consists of two main days, with a pre-show. Originally I was meant to attend both the Saturday and the Sunday, but much to my chagrin life got in the way, and instead the final four bands of the Sunday are all that I can manage, (I’m particularly gutted about missing Skinless). It’s time to make the most of it though, as I can still see some cracking bands, and I’ve been looking forward to it. Ancient Death – Ego Dissolution (Review)

Ancient Death - Ego DissolutionThis is the debut album from US death metal band Ancient Death.

I missed this back in April, but it’s come repeatedly recommended to the point where I had to check it out. I’m glad I did. Ego Dissolution contains 35 minutes of vibrant classic death metal, played so well that I can easily see why Ancient Death have created a bit of a buzz around themselves. Kontusion – Insatiable Lust for Death (Review)

Kontusion - Insatiable Lust for DeathThis is the debut album from US death metal band Kontusion.

Kontusion contain current and ex-members of Repulsion, Iron Reagan, Magrudergrind, and Mammoth Grinder, and on Insatiable Lust for Death they have provided us with 26 minutes of ugly death metal punishment. Continue reading “Kontusion – Insatiable Lust for Death (Review)”

Rhizaria – Indulgences (Review)

Rhizaria - IndulgencesThis is the debut album from US black/death metal band Rhizaria.

Rhizaria play a progressive form of black and death metal, delivering a hybrid style that’s irregular, and very compelling. Indulgences contains 40 minutes of material that scratches a very particular itch that sits right in a hard to reach place between atmosphere and dissonance. Continue reading “Rhizaria – Indulgences (Review)”

Cordyceps – Hell Inside (Review)

Cordyceps - Hell InsideThis is the second album from US death metallers Cordyceps.

I enjoyed 2020’s Betrayal, so another dose of brutal death metal heaviness from Cordyceps is well-received. This time it comes in the form of Hell Inside; 44 minutes of carnage, from a a band that haven’t stood still with their sound. Continue reading “Cordyceps – Hell Inside (Review)”

Beheaded – Għadam (Review)

Beheaded - GħadamThis is the seventh album from Beheaded, a Maltese death metal band

Following on from 2017’s Beast Incarnate and 2019’s Only Death Can Save You, Beheaded have now returned with the first death metal album ever written in Maltese. Għadam contains 40 minutes of new material, and it probably doesn’t sound like you’d expect it to. Continue reading “Beheaded – Għadam (Review)”

Malformed – Confinement of Flesh (Review)

Malformed - Confinement of FleshMalformed are a death metal band from Finland and this is their debut album.

Confinement of Flesh contains 33 minutes of old-school death metal played in the USDM style and mixed with Finnish darkness. Malformed know their way around a killing field, and this album is very easy to like if you’re a fan of classic death metal. Continue reading “Malformed – Confinement of Flesh (Review)”

Filth – Time to Rot (Review)

Filth - Time to RotFilth are a death metal band from Sweden and this is their debut album.

Time to Rot contains 29 minutes of utter Filth. Sorry, this stuff writes itself. This is nasty, stinking, decaying, old-school death metal, and Filth know what they are doing with the style. Continue reading “Filth – Time to Rot (Review)”

Dephosphorus – Planetoktonos (Review)

Dephosphorus - PlanetoktonosThis is the fifth album from Greek grindcore band Dephosphorus.

Dephosphorus play an extreme metal amalgamation of hardcore, grind, death metal, and black metal. It’s vicious, inventive, and rather tasty. Over 28 minutes Planetoktonos showcases what Dephosphorus are capable of in no uncertain terms. Continue reading “Dephosphorus – Planetoktonos (Review)”
