Glacial Tomb – Lightless Expanse (Review)

This is the second album from US death metal band Glacial Tomb.

Glacial Tomb boast not one, but two members of the mighty Khemmis, so I’m somewhat shocked that I’m so late to their sludgy blackened death metal party. Yep, that’s right – Lightless Expanse gifts us with a 36-minute platter of horrific death metal, ripe with sludge and black metal flavourings. Typhonian – The Gate of the Veiled Beyond (Review)

Typhonian are a German death metal band and this is their second album.

The Gate of the Veiled Beyond contains 50 minutes of old-school death metal, but of a non-standard variety. It’s rooted firmly in 90s waters, but has also been expanded with blackened, atmospheric, and progressive influences; Typhonian may look backwards for inspiration, but they also look to the future with what they do with it. Father Befouled – Immaculate Pain (Review)

This is the latest EP from US death metallers Father Befouled.

I last caught up with Father Befouled on 2017’s Desolate Gods. Since then the band have released an EP, a live album, a split, and another album in 2022 called Crowned in Veneficium, none of which I heard at the time, unfortunately. This streak of missed opportunities to let the band crush me with their blasphemous brand of death metal ends now, with the 26-minute Immaculate Pain. God Dethroned – The Judas Paradox (Review)

God Dethroned are a blackened death metal band from the Netherlands, and this is their twelfth album.

God Dethroned may have been around for over three decades, but they’ve lost none of their fiery intensity. Brutally Deceased – Chasms (Review)

Brutally Deceased are from Czechia, play death metal, and this is their fourth album.

Teeth – The Will of Hate (Review)

Teeth are a death metal/grindcore band from the US, and this is their third album.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching Teeth develop, from their split with Fister and also with Barghest, to last full length The Curse of Entropy in 2019. Demonical – Victorious Death – Live in Latin America (Review)

This is the latest release from Swedish death metal band Demonical.

Although certainly not my first love, and I don’t usually seek them out, I do enjoy a good live album. I really like Demonical, so knew I wanted to check out this live recording as soon as I saw it. Bursting at the seams with 62 minutes of chainsaw-driven death metal, there’s a lot of meaty music here to get your teeth stuck into.
