Eroded – Necropath (Review)

ErodedEroded are an Italian death metal band and this is their second album.

Featuring 35 minutes of 90s-styled old-school death metal, Eroded have produced a worthy and enjoyable album here. With war metal influences, (musically, if not thematically), and a Scandinavian veneer, Necropath is Hellishly good fun.

Demonic Obedience – Fatalistic Uprisal of Abhorrent Creation (Review)

Demonic ObedienceThis is the third album from Greek/UK blackened death metal band Demonic Obedience.

On Fatalistic Uprisal of Abhorrent Creation Demonic Obedience offer up 33 minutes of malignant blackened death metal. Tomb Mold – Manor of Infinite Forms (Review)

Tomb MoldTomb Mold are a Canadian death metal band and this is their second album.

This is an interesting release. Ostensibly old-school death metal that reeks of the underground and has a filthy, ugly delivery, there’s also a firmly atypical and non-standard side to these songs which makes Manor of Infinite Forms definitely stand out from the pack. Coffin Rot – Coffin Rot (Review)

Coffin RotCoffin Rot are a US death metal band and this is their latest demo.

Coffin Rot play gnarly, ugly old-school death metal, and they do it extremely well. With four tracks across 18 minutes, this is morbid music that’s easy to take a shine too. Continue reading “Coffin Rot – Coffin Rot (Review)”

Slaughterday – Abattoir (Review)

SlaughterdaySlaughterday are a German death metal band and this is their latest EP.

I have a huge soft spot for Slaughterday. Ostensibly no different to any number of other old-school death metal bands, there’s just something hard to define about them that I just really enjoy, (check out Nightmare Vortex, Ravenous, and Laws of the Occult to see what I mean). Continue reading “Slaughterday – Abattoir (Review)”
