Skinless – Savagery (Review)

SkinlessSkinless are a death metal band from the US and this is their sixth album.

This is the follow up to 2015’s highly enjoyable Only the Ruthless Remain. Okay, so let’s get the obvious out of the way first – Savagery is an album which is appropriately named. As I say, an obvious observation, I know, but fitting given the circumstances. This is blatant, unsubtle music for smashing skulls to. Continue reading “Skinless – Savagery (Review)”

Monthly Overview – the Best of April 2018

April has been an unusually strong month for metal, and I really have struggled to keep this list down to a manageable level. So much good music, so little time! Let’s have a look at what the metal world has given us this month then… Continue reading “Monthly Overview – the Best of April 2018”

Rotten Sound – Suffer to Abuse (Review)

Rotten SoundRotten Sound are a Finnish grindcore band and this is their latest EP.

Rotten Sound have always managed to marry up brutally aggressive music with decent songwriting and ferocious delivery. With this in mind, this latest EP offers 12 minutes of exactly this. Butcher ABC – North of Hell (Review)

Butcher ABCButcher ABC are a Japanese death metal band and this is their debut album.

Butcher ABC play a gruesome mix of death metal and grindcore, making for 39 ugly, sickening minutes of virulent gore metal. Continue reading “Butcher ABC – North of Hell (Review)”

Sadistik Forest – Morbid Majesties (Review)

Sadistik ForestSadistik Forest are a death metal band from Finland and this is their third album.

It’s hard for me to dislike something like this. Morbid Majesties contains 35 minutes of ugly, old-school death metal, and it resolutely slays. Continue reading “Sadistik Forest – Morbid Majesties (Review)”
