This is the third album from Falaise, a post-black metal band from Italy.
I’ve enjoyed watching Falaise develop over the years. 2015’s As Time Goes By introduced the world to the band’s melancholic, depressive take on atmospheric post-black metal, and then 2017’s My Endless Immensity consolidated the band’s strengths, further expanding their post-black metal sound. This is the debut album from French post-black metal band Heaume Mortal, (featuring a member of Eibon and Cowards).

Downfall of Gaia are a German post-black metal band and this is their fifth album.
Downfall of Gaia are an impressive proposition. Their blackened brand of atmospheric sludge metal is channelled into post-black metal songs that are both satisfying and immersive. Now this is the stuff. Katruzsa is a nature-inspired atmospheric black metal album with some post-black metal qualities. Underground and raw, with a sonic aesthetic that definitely pleases, this is textured black metal replete with affecting melodies and plenty of atmospheric depth.
