Defigurement – Endbryo (Review)

Defigurement - EndbryoThis is the debut album from US grindcore band Defigurement.

Defigurement are described as playing a technical/avant-garde/experimental form of grindcore. Couple this with the fact that the band contain current/ex-members of bands such as Bad Acid Trip, Changeling, Fear Factory, Invidiosus, Malignancy, Success Will Write Apocalypse Across the Sky, and Zillah, and this was one I wanted to check out. No Heroes – Brood Eternal (Review)

No Heroes - Brood EternalThis is the debut album from US grindcore band No Heroes.

Now here’s an interesting release. Brood Eternal was created over the course of a decade, and mixes together elements of black metal, sludge, hardcore, grindcore, and noise. Yep, No Heroes, (who feature a member of Ashbringer), play a grim hybrid style, and I frequently end up really liking bands that throw all kinds of influences like this into a melting pot to end up with something really dark and nasty. Let’s have a taste then. Continue reading “No Heroes – Brood Eternal (Review)”

Walking Corpse – Our Hands, Your Throat (Review)

Walking Corpse - Our Hands, Your ThroatThis is the second album from Swedish grindcore band Walking Corpse.

A grindcore band named, (presumably at least), after a Brutal Truth song? Count me in. I instantly knew I had to check this out. Good grind is hard to come by, so I crossed by fingers and dived right in. What did I find? Continue reading “Walking Corpse – Our Hands, Your Throat (Review)”

Gendo Ikari – Rokubungi (Review)

Gendo Ikari - RokubungiThis is the debut album from Scottish grindcore band Gendo Ikari.

Featuring a member of Ashenspire, Gendo Ikari play scathing grindcore that should appeal to fans of bands such as Discordance Axis, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Antigama, and Pig Destroyer. It’s fast, it’s nasty, and in 25 minutes it will leave you a bloody puddle on the floor. Continue reading “Gendo Ikari – Rokubungi (Review)”

Unyielding Love – The Sweat of Augury (Review)

Unyielding LoveThis is the debut EP from UK grindcore band Unyielding Love.

Unyielding Love play ultra-extreme dark, blackened grindcore, and they sound pissed. This is noisy and littered with feedback and chaotic delivery.

Mix Discordance Axis, Nails, Full of Hell, thekevorkiansolution and Labrat together and you’ll be in the right filthy area. Continue reading “Unyielding Love – The Sweat of Augury (Review)”
