There’s a greater cohesion in how the band members work together, and subsequently how their instruments and vocals fit with each other, meaning that the songs on this new album are very high quality. This is the third album from US deathcore/death metal band Signs of the Swarm.
I enjoyed 2017’s The Disfigurement of Existence, which took the standard deathcore template and injected into it brutal slamming death metal and the very occasional bout of melody and atmosphere. It’s largely inspired by late 90s/early 00s classic death metal, although this is given a modern makeover and also incorporates some slam elements. Overall, the word for this album is brutal.
