Darsombra – Polyvision (Review)

DarsombraDarsombra are a psychedelic drone band from the US.

Here we have some spaced out, cosmic-spanning psychedelic doom rock drone…quite a mouthful really, but one well-worth getting your chops around as Polyvision is a substantial cocktail of heady proportions. Continue reading “Darsombra – Polyvision (Review)”

Interview with Nova Collective

Nova Collective Header

Nova Collective are one of the more scintillating, exciting examples of progressive music to appear of late. They’re instrumental, but don’t really seem like it, as the music they create is so engaging and thought-provoking that the lack of a singer is barely noticed.

The Further Side is a great example of musicians coming together and producing something they really love. Luckily for the rest of us, they’re about to share it with everyone. Continue reading “Interview with Nova Collective”

Interview with Sunless

Sunless Header

I like dissonant, avant-garde death metal as much as the next person, but Sunless’ debut album Urraca really does live in its own league. Floods – Floods (Review)

FloodsFloods are a US black metal band and this is their debut EP.

Floods play a mix of black, death and sludge metal. Which genre they are actually playing is up for debate, although I’d argue that black metal forms the largest part of their musical equation, so we’ll go with that. Continue reading “Floods – Floods (Review)”

Fell Ruin – To the Concrete Drifts (Review)

Fell RuinFell Ruin are a blackened doom band from the US. This is their debut album.

Fell Ruin first graced the Earth with their sickened brand of sludgy black doom in 2015 with Devices. They’ve now returned with their first full length. I enjoyed Devices, (can one enjoy something as nasty as this band?), but To the Concrete Drifts is probably even better. Continue reading “Fell Ruin – To the Concrete Drifts (Review)”
