Interview with Arallu

Arallu are one of the best bands that you’ve probably never heard of. Every release is better than the last, with the band’s newest album Six being the best of them all in my opinion. I’m listening to it right now as I type these words, and it’s hard to express just how enjoyable and discerning it is. It’s black metal, and contains a lot of the traditional ingredients you’d expect to find in black metal, but the way it’s all cooked up and spiced with Middle Eastern themes and influences…Arallu rule, it’s that simple.

Strafk – Entomophobia (Review)

Strafk are a Russian black metal band and this is their second EP.

Their début EP, Phaseshifting, was experimental black metal, all dark, menacing guitars and free-form malevolence.

There are two tracks on this new release, with the entire EP lasting under 10 minutes in total, and it has a different feel to it than Phaseshifting.

Arallu are a band that have been releasing quality music for almost 20 years, and their fifth album, Geniewar, sees the band losing no momentum or creative power. It’s an engrossing listen, and by rights the band should be at least twice as popular as they actually are. Arallu – Geniewar (Review)

This is the fifth album from this Israeli black metal band.

Ever since I first heard Satanic War in Jerusalem back in 2002, it was immediately apparent that there was something different, something special, about Arallu’s music. Sure, it was black metal and contained recognisably black metal components, but there was also something extra that the band had. They’ve nurtured and developed it over the years, and every time I hear them I’m reminded of just how individual they are.
