Necropanther are a melodic death metal band from the US and this is their fourth album.
Necropanther play concise bursts of blackened death thrash. Tight and confident, Betrayal is easy listening for people that like spiked melodic hook-laden metal.
The songs on Betrayal are satisfying and offer a good aggressive time. Betrayal is simply a fun metal album to listen to. The band’s mix of death and thrash metal is lightly blackened and infectiously melodic. The record is packed with hooks and it keeps revealing more of them as you get to know it better.
Betrayal looks and sounds good, but the real test of the band’s abilities lies in their songwriting skills, and Necropanther pass this test without issue; the songs are well-written and flow well. Whether it’s a memorable riff, a pounding rhythm section, piercing leads, or the aggressive dual vocals of screams and growls, the band know what to do with their component parts and how best to arrange them for good impact.
This is energetic music that flies by in a riotous blur of speedy riffs and harsh snarls. The drumming is punishing and there are screaming guitar solos. What more can you ask for from this sort of style?
Very highly recommended. Definitely one to check out if you’re a fan of bands such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Skeletonwitch, At the Gates, Kreator, Goatwhore, Revocation, Witchery, etc.
