This is the fourth album from Greek heavy metal band Black Soul Horde.
Black Soul Horde play a mix of classic heavy metal and power metal, combined with a touch of epic doom metal. As such, Symphony of Chaos is great fun. It’s a 44-minute explosion of addictive metallic joy. If you’re partial to the style, how could you not enjoy this?
Symphony of Chaos is high energy and packed with dynamic songwriting. The riffs don’t stop, and the bright melodies infect the airwaves with their glorious colours. The vocals soar and dive, and the singer seems quite happy belting out hooks like nobody’s business. It’s very good stuff.
Black Soul Horde put the emphasis firmly on the song. They focus on crafting hooks and delivering catchiness, and it works a treat. Each track is well-written, serving up a sugary feast for the listener to hungrily devour. Thankfully, it’s not just junk food that Symphony of Chaos offers; there’s meat here too that’s tasty and satisfying.
Definitely one for fans of bands such as Burning Shadows, Eternal Champion, Gatekeeper, Grand Magus, Haunt, Megaton Sword, Smoulder, Sumerlands, and Visigoth to actively seek out.
Highly recommended.
