Enforced – War Remains (Review)

Enforced - War RemainsEnforced are a crossover thrash metal band from the US and this is their third album.

Following on from 2021’s well-regarded Kill Grid, War Remains lands with the impact of a bombshell. Enforced’s new album is a force to be reckoned with.

With a duration of 34 minutes War Remains is a lean, mean, fighting machine. It takes the strengths of Kill Grid and streamlines them into ten tracks of killing power. The songs are short and brutal, delivering quick bursts of aggression in compact packages of angry distortion. Enforced mean business, and business is good.

Enforced continue to wear their influences on their sleeves – Demolition Hammer, Merauder, Sepultura, Obituary, Slayer, Power Trip – but channel and refine these into the riotous ball of energy that is War Remains. Enforced sound rawer and hungrier on War Remains, and the music benefits from this.

These are songs that are designed to get you moving. They sound as if they will be right at home in the live environment, and have the energy and bladed riffs to back it up. With wild hooks, memorable harsh shouts, and catchy guitars, these tracks hit the spot nicely.

No frills, no gimmicks, no filler, no nonsense. War Remains delivers a record of aggressive thrash metal that is easy to like and full of killer tunes. What more could you ask for?

Essential listening for thrash fans everywhere.
