Immune to Them – Vomit the Chains (Review)

Immune to Them - Vomit the ChainsThis is the debut EP from Spanish grindcore band Immune to Them.

Five tracks, 10 minutes – it’s time for a hit of grinding ferocity from Immune to Them. Vomit the Chains marks a new entrant into the grindcore killing arena, and we may have a future champion on our hands.

Vomit the Chains fields a monstrous form of grindcore that throws in elements of hardcore, punk, crust, and metal, and it’s brutally good fun. Short and sweet, the songs are angry and savage, wasting no time and taking no prisoners. It’s slab of old-school intensity driven by contemporary passion, and reminds me of a mix of bands such as Brutal Truth, Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror, and Cripple Bastards.

The songs are well-written and demonstrate an easy grasp of the style. The band range from d-beat aggression to punk-fuelled energy, to scathing grinding mayhem, to vicious brutality. Immune to Them know how to grind.

This is really good. As an introduction it hits the spot hard, and I can’t wait to hear what the band do next. In addition to the positives of Vomit the Chains itself, there’s a lot of promise here.

Very highly recommended.
