Demonical – Chaos Manifesto (Review)

DemonicalDemonical are from Sweden and this is their fifth album. They play death metal.

Featuring members of the mighty Centinex, (whose singer and drummer have joined the band for this release too), Demonical play a darkly melodic version of Swedish death metal. Having really enjoyed 2015’s Black Flesh Redemption, I’ve been really looking forward to this one.

It hasn’t disappointed. From the very first seconds of Chaos Manifesto it should be obvious to anyone that Demonical play classic Swedish death metal, with the full-on chainsaw sound. Heavy aggression and dark melodies abound, and the album is full of dark death metal songs that grab you forcibly and rub your face in the grave moss.

I’m a sucker for this kind of thing, especially when handled well and delivered with style, as it is here. Oh yes, this is very much the good stuff.

Everything here is well-written and you can’t fault the band’s performance or attitude. The songs are brutal and melodic, full of stomping riffs and macabre melodies.

As you’d expect, the Centinex singer fits in perfectly, and knows how to roar with the best of them.

It’s hard for me to get enough of something like this. Demonical’s latest album is a killer.

Check this out.
