Hexekration Rites – Misanthropic Path of Carnal Deliverance (Review)

Hexekration Rites - Misanthropic Path of Carnal DeliveranceThis is the debut album from French blackened death metal band Hexekration Rites.

Brought to us by an ex-member of Azziard, Hexekration Rites play a darkly brutal mix of black and death metal. Misanthropic Path of Carnal Deliverance is a 44-minute record that will destroy everything around you quite convincingly.

Misanthropic Path of Carnal Deliverance is an esoteric work that combines mystical blackened might with death metal brutality. Through malevolent atmosphere and abrasive violence, Hexekration Rites carve a bloody path through the extreme metal underworld. The songs are imbued with suffocating intensity and sinister threat that leech a venomous lethality into the music’s core of brutal deathly chaos.

Elements of the bestial war metal sound can be found here for sure, but these are incorporated into a wider framework that’s more refined, but no less hostile. At least in places; in others, Hexekration Rites let slip the leash entirely and the music’s fury is unfettered and devastating. The band deliver their music with savage intensity, yet know how and when to use dynamics, structuring, pace, and mood to broaden their musical rituals. It’s all ferocious stuff of course, but within this the band obviously like a bit of songcraft to go along with their rampant barbarity.

Well-crafted, well-written, and supremely satisfying, Hexekration Rites have unleashed a very enjoyable album. Misanthropic Path of Carnal Deliverance is a keeper.

Fans of bands such as Aberration, Altarage, Archgoat, Black Curse, Diabolic Oath, Golgothan Remains, Heresiarch, Omegavortex, Osgraef, Teitanblood, Triumvir Foul, etc. need to pay attention.
