Howling Giant – Glass Future (Review)

Howling Giant - Glass FutureHowling Giant are a rock band from the US and this is their second album.

I like me a bit of what Howling Giant are peddling, and Glass Future‘s 41 minutes of tuneage hits the spot nicely.

The Howling Giant formula is one that combines hard rock, classic metal hooks, progressive rock depth, psychedelic enhancements, and pop sugar, making for music that’s satisfying and laden with tastiness.

Cosmic space rock and gritty desert rock collide in an explosion of catchy colour. The songs are all about resplendent vocals, engaging melody, and fuzzy riffs. Howling Giant know how to pen a good tune, and the triple vocals simply layer the compelling music with luscious goodness. The songs are gloriously rich in feeling and glow with an inner light that comes from the music’s emotive base.

Glass Future is ethereal and textured, but still benefits from a rumbling foundation of stoner groove that keeps it anchored in reality. Howling Giant blend these two worlds together with ease, crafting songs that take strengths from both areas.

If you’re in the market for something like Rush meets Sergeant Thunderhoof meets Elder, then Glass Future is where it’s at.

Very highly recommended for fans of gorgeously rendered rock music.
