Necroptic Engorgement – Realms of Incessant Bloodshed (Review)

Necroptic EngorgementNecroptic Engorgement are a death metal band from the US. This is their latest EP.

This is brutal death metal with a touch of deathgrind added for extra flavour.

Vocals are either high pitched screeches or deep, guttural growl-barks that sometimes sound unusually legible, but always sound unusually evil.

The drums are dense enough to floor you, while the distorted guitars have a nice fuzzy, chunky sound. Some liquid solos and leads rear their heads here and there, and are quite refreshing in their delivery. The bass also makes its presence felt, which is always a bonus.

A short and brutal slab of death metal; we get 5 tracks in just under 15 minutes. The songs take influence from both old and new aspects of death metal, everything from 90s USDM to ultra-modern deathcore. The band manage to take these influences and create something straddling the line that should be enjoyable to all. Well, all death metal fans at least.

I enjoyed this quite a bit. It’s underground death metal with a powerful sound and plenty of brutality to keep things interesting.
