Brain Bleed are a deathgrind band from the US and this is their debut album.
Savage, that’s the word. Or, at least one of them. Brain Bleed are savage. They’re also brutal, belligerent, harsh, and many other similar words. Essentially, they’re a nasty bunch, and Automated Eradication is 20 minutes of all kinds of ugliness.
But, believe it or not, this is all a good thing. As I’ve mentioned before, I really like hybrid releases like this. Death metal muscle, grindcore intensity, hardcore attitude, and sludge groove all combine on Automated Eradication in an explosion of filthy riffs, pounding drums, and aggressive vocals. It makes for a very engaging and enjoyable listen.
The songs dish out their violence at varying speeds and levels of onslaught. This is not a blast beat-driven band, (although these are present where necessary). Rather, Brain Bleed select the right tool and pace for the job when they need to, and then wield it to cause much damage. This might mean feral blast beats, or it might mean a slower, heavier section, or maybe a mid-paced sludgecore assault that will leave you reeling. These and many other methods of execution can be found spread out across these tracks.
Yep, there’s plenty you can bang your head to on Automated Eradication, and I can only imagine how devastating this could be live. After all, it’s pretty devastating just blaring out of my speakers at home.
Top stuff from Brain Bleed. I really enjoyed this, and hope you do too.
