Disuse are a grindcore band from the Netherlands and this is their latest EP.
Machine-Gun Kelly gives us less than four minutes of new material and follows on from the 2018 EP The Yeti from Kad-Man-RA, which I characterised as nasty blink-and-you’ll-miss-it grindcore.
Well, this EP is even more of a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it experience, with the songs flying by like the bullets from the title. There are 18 tracks here, and none of them lasts longer than 30 seconds.
Groove and blast, only shortened immensely, is the order of business here, and business is goooood. It’s hard to find anything too involved to say about this release, other than it’s fun, very enjoyable, and gives you exactly what you’d want from something like this. The tracks never even begin to have a chance to outstay their welcome, and the band’s music is well-delivered enough even in these short bursts to leave you feeling satisfied at the end of the EP’s brief duration.
If you’re a fan of this sort of grind, then this is a great little EP.
