Wolfbastard – Satanic Scum Punks (Review)

Wolfbastard - Satanic Scum PunksThis is the fourth album from UK black/crust band Wolfbastard.

Wolfbastard have shown over and over again just how potent they are at violently spewing forth their particular strain of venom. Satanic Scum Punks doesn’t let the side down, unleashing 29 minutes of vicious diatribes and cutting violence.

Satanic Scum Punks is bags of filthy fun, but it’s also bloody good too. The songs are covered in rusted hooks, and they cause a wonderful amount of damage. The furious riffs, snarling vocals, and punishing drums all deliver the feral goods. Wolfbastard collectively conspire to assault the listener with sharpened bursts of antagonistic aggression, and it’s all just swell.

Wolfbastard are blessed with an abundance of character. The songs are simple, abusive creatures, but extremely endearing alongside this. The music brutalises with undisguised contempt and a sneering expression of hatred, while also downing stale beers and generally having a lovely old time of it. Satanic Scum Punks is a collection of party tunes for dystopian living.

It’s nasty black metal, grim crusty belligerence, hostile punk attitude, and it’s great fun. Wolfbastard are a proud British institution, or they should be at any rate. Satanic Scum Punks is an 11-track smack to the face, and you should do your absolute best to ask for more afterwards.

Wolfbastard rule. Get on board and hold on for dear life.
