Vukovi – My God Has Got a Gun (Review)

Vukovi - My God Has Got a GunThis is the fourth album from Scottish rock band Vukovi.

My God Has Got a Gun operates in a less-defined place where rock and pop collide. Throw in some nu-metal influences too, and you’ll have a good idea of where Vukovi are coming from.

The 44-minutes of music on My God Has Got a Gun is song-focused, and centred around the expressive vocals of Vukovi’s talented singer. Like the music, her style is a mix of pop and rock, and she fulfils her role perfectly.

The songs are catchy and memorable, with hooks aplenty and a feast of big choruses. They’re electronically enhanced, and boast a bold personality. The latter is, on the surface of it at least, largely due to the Vukovi’s charismatic singer, although the music itself isn’t lacking in this regard either.

Vukovi have produced a polished and professional record with hooks and personality. My God Has a Gun is an easy album to recommend for fans of modern heavy rock that throws a hearty dose of pop elements into the mix. If this strikes a chord with you, check this out.
