This is the second album from US progressive metallers Stellar Circuits.
Sight to Sound contains 48 minutes of music that’s professional and accomplished. Stellar Circuits’ modern take on metal is a technical form of progressive music that also borrows from a few other styles here and there. The end result is an intricate collection of tracks that mix accessibility with complexity.
The band have a contemporary sound that is recognisable from that of many of their peers, yet Sight to Sound takes this and makes it its own. Sight to Sound should appeal to bands such as Karnivool, Monuments, Scale the Summit, Tool, and Sermon, all of which Stellar Circuits remind me of at various points, so should give you an indication as to whether this is for you or not.
The songs are well-written and constructed according to the band’s technically minded vision. That the band can play is beyond doubt, and they certainly showcase their skills across the album, but they also remember the value of having actual songs in their repertoire. As such, as well as the technical wizardry and progressive depths that the album boasts, there are also hooks and memorable moments strewn around the music, almost casually. Even with this though, Sight to Sound is an album that benefits from multiple listens, as many of its brightest assets require time to truly reveal themselves.
I have enjoyed my time with Sight to Sound. For all its obvious strengths, I like that it is a subtle album that grows in power and presence over time. Stellar Circuits have done well to take the modern progressive/technical metal template and add their own spin to it.
Highly recommended for fans of the style.

I really enjoyed checking this group out. I am always looking for new music. I will have to add them to my collection. Thanks again.
