This is the debut album from UK solo black metal act Efraah Enhsikaah.
One Thousand Vultures Waiting to Be Fed is a quality 41-minute atmospheric black metal album. It look me a while to get around to this one, but you won’t want to miss out on its dark charms.
The music of Efraah Enhsikaah is rooted in the 90s, offering up cold melancholic vistas for the listener to explore. Each track has its own character and creative ideas, making for a well-rounded experience. The songs have a strong presence and instantly make a good impression. It’s a record that grows over time though for sure as its mood-focused blackened ways work their dark magic on your mind.
The songs make good use of their melodic and atmospheric components, delivering music that’s rich in feeling and emotive power. Despite the emphasis on atmosphere, there is also an aggressive bite that’s really sharp, and the harsh vocals drip with pure venomous malevolence. Speaking of the vocals, two tracks also feature a guest vocalist, (ex-Mutiilation).
The artist behind Efraah Enhsikaah clearly has a talent for this style of music. This is an above average release in many respects, not the least of which is the rhythm guitars and the use of engaging riffs. There is a lot of compelling content spread across One Thousand Vultures Waiting to Be Fed, in all of the performances, but many of the rhythms and riffs are highlights for me.
The debut album from Efraah Enhsikaah is a very enjoyable slice of atmospheric black metal. Delivered with frozen intensity and a bleak immersive aura that saturates the music, One Thousand Vultures Waiting to Be Fed is a release you should definitely take the time to explore.
