This is album is a collaboration between The Body, an experimental sludge band from the US, and Full of Hell, a grindcore band, also from the US. It’s the second time these two malignant entities have teamed up to create an album together.
This album takes the experimental noise aspect, (and some of the grindcore), of Full of Hell’s work and merges it with the equally experimental soundscapes of The Body, resulting in songs that effectively and enjoyably embody a good mix of both.
Harsh electronics, noise, and doom-fuelled enhanced sludge rub shoulders with pseudo-grind and punk belligerence. Throw in some big beats and the occasional hip hop groove, and you have a really compelling collection of innovative noise metal ready to sand your face off.
The songs are eclectic and savage, taking a base rawness and running it through synthetic manipulation and aggressive mutations. This is a feast of feedback, distortion, dissonant atmosphere, and murderous electronics, all coupled with an underpinning base of grindcore and sludge metal. If this sounds like your thing, then you absolutely must check this out.
Very highly recommended.
