This is brutal death metal in the American style, with plenty of weight and muscularity in their sound. For fans of Defeated Sanity, Suffocation, Dying Fetus, Cannibal Corpse, Deeds of Flesh, Pyrexia, Internal Bleeding, etc.
The band offer up 17 minutes of brutality, with some dark winding melodies hidden within the distortion and a nice way of combining different speeds of attack to good effect.
With a singer that sounds like he’s growling while trying to swallow broken glass, there’s no issue in the vocal department. The rest of the band seem equally adept at their jobs, with hammering drums and twisting guitar riffs occasionally making way for heavier chug-fests.
The songs are well-written and it’s clear that the band know their chosen method of execution inside and out. Bonus points for using a sample from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia too.
This is enjoyable USDM played in the traditional style. It’s always nice to hear this kind of thing and Throne of Botis play it well.
Give them a listen.
